An independent, non-partisan think tank that devises ways to strengthen the moral and structural foundations of Israeli democracy. It assembles Israel's best minds to develop solutions in the realms of government, national security, Jewish identity, and human rights. Since its establishment in 1991, they have supported Israel's elected officials, civil servants, and opinion leaders by conducting comparative policy studies, designing research-based blueprints for reform that include practical implementation strategies, maintaining forums for dialogue and consensus building across society and government, and promoting the values and norms vital for maintaining Israel's dual identity as a Jewish and democratic state.

Research interns are assigned to one of IDI’s seven research programs, based upon the specific needs of our Research Fellows and the particular skills of the intern. This position involves working closely with the Research Fellow and research staff in a particular subject area
